Elena Dementieva appointed Vice President of Russian Tennis Federation

Only two months into her retirement and Elena Dementieva is already back in the spotlight, having been named vice-pressie of the Russian Tennis Federation. Just days after Elena’s retirement, Shamil Tarpischev expressed his intention of inviting Elena to the position. I never expected her to agree to it so swiftly though, and it will be interesting to see whether this position is just an honourary “meet and greet” role, or if she is going to roll up her sleeves and really try to make a difference.
