Thomaz Bellucci Kicks Off US Hardcourts In Style

Fourth-seeded Thomaz Bellucci made a not-too-shabby start to his title run in LA by crushing Alejandro Falla 6-0 6-1 in 52 minutes.

This marks only Thomaz’s third ever tour quarterfinal on hardcourts. With his big serve, forehand and solid technique, it seems quite unbelievable that he has been unable to find any form off clay. But it’s all about movement and confidence, both of which he has lacked so much on hardcourts surfaces. However, it seems that Larri Passos has forced him to actually take the hard court season semi-seriously for once by ditching the useless claycourt 250s and training hard in the US ahead of the US Open series. And I have a funny feeling that it all may just pay off this Summer.

Also, earlier on this week, Wilson tennis decided to illustrate what Belluccinho would look like if he actually had a working head. If only!

Go Thomaz! I hope he makes a deep run in at least one tournament this summer.
But above all, I hope he his beloved Jarka play mixed again in the USO, that is if she’ll have him anywhere near her again, lol…

Hah, but Jarka seems pretty much up for it with all those twitpics of her in tight dresses. The question is whether Thomaz will finally be a man and ask her out.

I must admit that at first I didn’t agree with not playing Gstaad and Hamburg to go to the United States because he lost some positions in the rankings recently and I thought it was not the right time to take risks. But I admit I was wrong. Maybe it’s even easier to go to the semis now that would have been in Gstaad. What I always liked about Larri is that he always thinks big and perhaps Thomaz needed that push to leave the safety of clay and become a more complete player.
(sorry for any English mistakes lol)

Yeah, I really don’t see why he can’t be really good on hard, it’s just that he never devotes enough time to improving on it.

And yeah, thank god for Larry. Cos I think he has got stuck into the grind of playing all those safe little 250 clay events, doing well enough to make good money and keep his ranking around 30 but not really improving or doing anything differently. But this is a big change for him and hopefully it will give him more motivation to do well. And who knows, maybe his head is wired differently in the USA?

And lol don’t worry, there are no English mistakes. Your English is probably better than mine haha.
