Foot Fault!

Calling all the lines of professional tennis

The Vicious Circle Continues…

Dinara Safina was forced to withdraw from the quarterfinals of Marbella with a lower back injury while down 1-5 in the first set against Victoria Azarenka.

Does this girl have any luck? After winning through to her first quarterfinal of 2011, this was such a great chance to go all out against player playing as well as Vika has been playing. But of course, as it has been for the last year and a half, any time she begins to take positive steps forward, injuries and bad luck inevitable comes along and pushes her back again. It’s just so brutal to watch her getting the wind punched out of her every single times things start to look up for her. Let’s just hope this is nothing serious and she’ll be back in Fes.

She has since tweeted that she is going to give the doubles match a go tomorrow with Agnes, who also had a back injury and needed several on-court treatments for it during her match against Sveta. Dinara will definately need some better luck tomorrow!

The girl is due a boat-load of good luck and soon. I’d hate to see her spirit broken when she seems to have come so far mentally in the last couple of months

Why the weakest number one in the history of women’s tennis still gets any attention and sympathy is beyond me. She should just retire already and go worship her older brother.

    It all makes perfect sense.

Her rise was quick and unexpected, muscle mass growth was equally as quick, and now her body is breaking down without the PEDs.

    She’s getting what she deserves.
