Foot Fault!

The invitational exhibition event in Abu Dhabi kicked off today. In the first match of the day, Tomas Berdych edged out Marcos Baghdatis 6-3 3-6 7-5, before Robin Soderling moved through to the semis with a 6-4 6-7(5) 6-1 victory over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Awaiting the pair in the semifinals are Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer respectively.

All in all, pretty expected results, but it’s great to see Jo-Wilfried back in action. Taking a set off a top 5 player isn’t too shabby, all things considered, so let’s hope that he can catch a break this year and have an injury-free 2011.
