Calling all the lines of professional tennis

Quotable Quotes: Novak Djokovic Is All Growed Up

“I have to congratulate him, because he really played, I think, a perfect match. I don’t think I’ve played bad. Actually, I think I even returned well in the first set. But any time I needed a point when it was important, couple of games in the first set, deuce or 30-all, he came up with a huge serve. I mean, just close to the line, or he came up with an incredible first volley or something like that. All credit to him, he deserved to win.”

Novak Djokovic after his loss to Michael Llodra in Paris.

Remember back when Novak burst onto the ATP tour? He was widely considered lazy, arrogant with an ego bigger than his serve. As he rose up the ranks early on, he gained a load of critics and haters for his attitude on and off-court.

Nowadays, he is a completely different person. I mean even I disliked him for the longest time, but now I probably class him as my second favourite player. He always of course had the talent; the crazy athleticism, brilliant groundstrokes, plus severely underrated intelligence, tactics and mental strength. But now he works hard, never complains and is probably most gracious in defeat out of all of the top players. Props, Nole.

I feel the same – went through a period when I couldn’t stand him, but I think he has a great attitude and love his expressions on court..just wish the health issues would go away! He’s still young tho….
